Đối với dòng IBM Server System x thì ngoài card Raid Intergrated trong máy thì IBM còn cung cấp một số card Raid rời gắn thêm (optional) để hỗ trợ nhiều chuẩn Raid hơn cho Server IBM system x. Vì cấu hình Default card Raid Intergrate của dòng IBM Server System x chỉ hỗ trợ raid 0, 1, 1E , và đều có option cho mình nâng cấp card RAID để có thể sử dụng 5, 6, 60...
